Thursday Thirst- Strawberry Lemonade

19 November 2009 No Comment

                    strawberry

I am a strawberry lemonade fiend! I am rather displeased when a restuarant does not offer strawberry lemonade and for all my other strawberry lemonade enthusiasts, Ruby Tuesday’s has the best. I told you in the Tuesday Twist blog that I had an important lunch scheduled for yesterday. Well,  it was great! Two other interns and I went to eat with the two HR executives and mostly discussed social media. All the teaching I have heard about dining etiquette started to come into play. That is one area in my professional profile that I have not gone about editing yet. I wanted to see what everyone else ordered before I ordered. The other interns ordered salads, but the Senior Recruiting Manager ordered Salmon, so I ordered cajun chicken fettuccine. The other interns did not drink anything else but the water served to them. I ordered a strawberry lemonade. Now, I may have broken every single rule in the rule book, but the lunch was successful!

I was able to communicate my skill set very effectively and I added value to the conversation. After the meal was over, we all headed back to the office. On the way up the elevator, I decided to ask the Director of Recruiting if I could sit down and discuss Joshua and I’s project to see what we can build that will be valuable to HR departments. I was expecting to meet with him at a much later date, but he suggested that I come see him tomorrow! So, tomorrow I am going to ask him questions in order to get an idea of what kind of services we can potentially provide to businesses.

Any surprises come your way this week?
