Saturday Saves – How will late night meetings save your business?

Yesterday evening was one of the busiest I’ve had…in a while. After hopping off the bus from Washington, DC, I rode to Loudoun County, VA, to meet with Omari Fennell. Omari is the President/CEO of Generation C Entertainment, which provides the highest quality of entertainment and event planning for Christian and non-Christian events, as well as, unites the youth and young adult Christian communities in fellowship through skate parties, poetry nights, open mic nights, concerts, etc. Then I drove across town to meet with Brian, to discuss his meeting with a recruiting director from Dominion Enterprises. Needless to say I arrived home late, in time to get a couple hours of sleep, before getting up the next morning for the Help the Homeless Walk, in Washington, DC. How will sleepless nights save your business?
I met Omari last year at a Donnie McClurkin gospel concert, hosted by Generation C Entertainment. From that moment on Omari became a good friend. We met for a few hours, yesterday, discussing faith, politics, young entrepreneurship and marketing for an upcoming philanthropy project (the primary reason for the meeting). Omari provided me with a brief online marketing strategy for increasing SEO and effectively using the social networks. He works with Seth Erves, Co-Founder of Inspired Cre8tions, to provide companies with online marketing solutions. Omari is an inspiration and a young entrepreneur to watch out for in the coming months!
Following the meeting, I drove to Brian’s house for a late night work session. I must inform you, Brian was just arriving to Northern Virginia, from Norfolk. We were both exhausted, but mission focused! We listened to the meeting between Brian and the recruiting director from Dominion Enterprises. He recorded the meeting on his phone. We recommend you do the same, incase you have to revert back to the meeting (of course get permission). They discussed Dominion Enterprises’ intern program and relations. As a result, we were “whiteboarding” and conjuring up new ideas, late into the night!
I arrived home with enough time to get in a quick nap, before waking up to participate in the Help the Homeless Walk. This is the kind of determination needed to be successful. Late night meetings are a small sacrifice to HUGE success in business.
